Amy Jones struck an unbeaten 92 as England Women kicked off their ODI series against New Zealand Women with a four-wicket victory at the Cello Basin Reserve in Wellington.
Chasing 208 to win, Heather Knight's side were 79-6 before an unbroken seventh-wicket stand of 130 between Jones and Charlie Dean sealed victory.
The White Ferns was bowled out for 207 thanks to Lauren Bell and Dean (three wickets apiece), Kate Cross (two wickets), and contributions from Nat Sciver-Brunt and Sophie Ecclestone (one wicket each).
Off-spinner Dean also became the fastest woman to reach 50 ODI wickets, a record held since 1987.
Suzie Bates scored a half-century before she was bowled by Dean and caught by wicketkeeper Jones. Amelia Kerr and Georgia Plimmer were both bowled by the impressive Cross at the other end.
England's reply saw opener Tammy Beaumont dismissed early by Jess Kerr, with the experienced duo of Knight and Sciver-Brunt adding 12 runs apiece as the tourists struggled to find their rhythm.
White Ferns captain Amelia Kerr bowled Alice Capsey lbw. She then dismissed Danni Wyatt.
Jones and Dean then put on an impressive partnership to spearhead England's chase and finish on 209-6.
The teams will now travel to Hamilton for the final two ODIs of the series, the first of which begins on Thursday.
