In the second T20 in Barbados, England secured a seven-wicket victory over the West Indies, moving to a 2-0 lead in the series. Chasing a target of 159, Jos Buttler’s explosive 83 off 45 balls paved the way for a comfortable win, as England finished with 161-3 in just 14.5 overs.
After opener Phil Salt fell on the first ball, Buttler took charge, smashing eight fours and six sixes. His powerful 129-run partnership with Will Jacks, who contributed 38 off 29 balls, put England firmly in control. Though both batters were dismissed in the same Romario Shepherd over, England had already set themselves up to complete the chase with ease, crossing the line with 31 balls to spare.
Earlier, West Indies struggled initially, slipping to 35-3 during the powerplay. Rovman Powell led a partial recovery, scoring 43 before being bowled by Dan Mousley at 102-6. Late contributions from Shepherd, Matthew Forde, and newcomer Terrance Hinds lifted the home team to 158-8. However, with Buttler in unstoppable form, England made light work of their target.
England will now travel to St. Lucia for the final three matches of the five-game series.
