Cameron Bancroft, an Australian international batsman, has returned to Gloucestershire with confidence

Cameron Bancroft, the top-order batter from Australia, has confidently signed a contract with Gloucestershire for the 2024 season.

With his impressive record of 446 runs in 10 Tests for his country and being the leading scorer in Australia's domestic competition, the Sheffield Shield, this winter, with 512 runs in six matches, Bancroft will undoubtedly be a valuable asset to Gloucestershire.

He will be available to play across all formats for the team, having previously played for them in 2016 and 2017.

Gloucestershire signed Bancroft just 24 hours after appointing former captain Mark Alleyne as the club's new head coach.

Bancroft, who began his county career with Gloucestershire and has also played for Durham and Somerset, expressed his delight at returning to the club.

He is excited about the opportunity to play all formats of county cricket with the club.

With a new coach and a talented playing group, I am eagerly anticipating the upcoming season.

Bancroft's impressive record of 9,449 runs in 146 first-class matches, including 25 centuries, speaks for itself. Despite serving a nine-month ban from international and domestic cricket in 2018 for his part in the ball tampering against South Africa, he made a successful return to play in the following year's Ashes series.
