Daniel Sams, the Australian all-rounder, has re-signed for Essex for the first eight matches of the T20 Blast

Daniel Sams, the 10-times capped Australia T20 international, has confidently re-signed with Essex Eagles for the first eight matches of the 2024 T20 Blast.

This marks his third stint with the team, having previously signed in 2022 and returned in 2023 to help Essex reach the final, which they unfortunately lost to Somerset.

Sams has also been a valuable player for The Trent Rockets in the Men's Hundred for the last two seasons.

This exciting news is part of the County’s ins and outs, showcasing Sams' continued success and expertise in the sport.

Daniel Sams, a seasoned T20 cricketer, is currently showcasing his skills with Sharjah Warriors in the International League held in the United Arab Emirates.

With an impressive track record of representing Australia in 10 T20 international matches and playing for three IPL teams - Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Mumbai Indians - as well as both Sydney-based teams in the Big Bash, Sams is a valuable addition to any team he plays for.

Essex will start their T20 Blast campaign with a fixture against Gloucestershire in Bristol on 30 May.

The team's key foreign acquisitions for 2024 are Simon Harmer and Dean Elgar, both hailing from South Africa.
