Harry Brook has returned to cricket for the first time in months. His grandmother died and the young batsman took a long break from cricket. Brook pulled out of the five-match Test series against England. He then decided to skip the 2024 Indian Premier League.
The right-handed batsman was a member of Delhi Capitals but informed the owners and management of his unavailability.
Meanwhile, he scored a century in his first County Championship match. Playing for Yorkshire, he reached the ton in 65 balls. His attacking knock against Leicestershire included 14 fours and 2 sixes.
Ben Mike made 90 as Leicestershire were bowled out for 354 in their first innings.
Yorkshire declared their innings after reaching 264/6 on the final day of the competition.
Meanwhile, Brook played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2023 IPL and, apart from a century, failed to make an impact. The 2016 champions released him ahead of IPL 2024. Delhi Capitals have given him a new franchise.
