Former South African allrounder Jean Paul Duminy has been appointed as the head coach of the Sharjah Warriorz for the upcoming International League T20 (ILT20) season. Duminy, who began his role as South Africa’s white-ball batting coach in late 2023, brings extensive experience to the position.
Throughout his international career, which spanned from 2004 to 2019, Duminy played in prominent leagues such as the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), Indian Premier League (IPL), and Pakistan Super League (PSL). After retiring from playing, he transitioned into coaching, working with South Africa’s Boland Rocks before taking on a coaching role with the Paarl Royals during the inaugural season of SA20.
Expressing his excitement about his new position, Duminy shared that he was thrilled to take on the challenge of leading the Sharjah Warriorz. He described the team as a dynamic and optimistic group, full of fresh ideas for the upcoming season. Duminy added that the team is eager to build a strong squad and looks forward to what the season will bring.
