Lancashire Cricket is stepping up to the plate for women's cricket and asking the North West to show its support as it launches #BatForWomensCricket with Lancashire Thunder.
Only four in ten people in the North West have been to a cricket match in person, according to new research, and of those only 11% have watched women's cricket.
The research was carried out on behalf of Lancashire Cricket as part of its wider campaign to drive change within the sport - and in particular the women's game - through its Red Rose Together campaign. This follows the club's recent announcement of a significant investment in its women's team through its partner Hilton.
Daniel Gidney, Chief Executive of Lancashire Cricket, said: "We want to encourage as many people as possible to come to Emirates Old Trafford and support our professional women's team. We want to make the standalone T20 match on Sunday 19 May a spectacle for the women's game and we're keen to make it accessible and affordable for everyone.
