Lancashire Signs Chris Green

Lancashire has secured Australian all-rounder Chris Green as an overseas player for the Vitality T20 Blast over the next two seasons. Green, 31, led Lancashire’s wicket-tally this summer with 14, playing a crucial role in their progression to the knockouts. However, his absence in the quarterfinal against Sussex, due to a scheduling clash with the CPL, impacted their journey.

Green’s contract allows him to participate in the County Championship and One-Day Cup, depending on availability. This year, he represented Trent Rockets in the Hundred and made six appearances in the One-Day Cup, achieving his maiden hundred, along with a single Championship game for Lancashire.

Reflecting on his time with Lancashire, Green expressed excitement for the next two years, stating he thoroughly enjoyed his first year with the club. He mentioned the team’s close-knit atmosphere and anticipated significant achievements in 2025 and 2026, eager to contribute to the squad’s goals. He also thanked the supporters, saying he looked forward to reuniting with them at Emirates Old Trafford next summer.

Mark Chilton, Lancashire’s director of cricket performance, highlighted that securing Green’s contract was a top priority. He shared that Green had various global opportunities but chose to commit to Lancashire. Chilton praised Green’s skills with both bat and ball and his influence in the dressing room, noting his leadership qualities had left a lasting impression. The club is excited to welcome him back for the upcoming seasons.
