Lancashire has brought in West Indies fast bowler Anderson Phillip as an overseas player for the final three fixtures of the County Championship season.
The 28-year-old from Trinidad will join the squad immediately, making his debut against Durham at Chester-le-Street starting Monday.
Phillip, who recently played for the Miami Lions in Florida, has represented the West Indies in two Test matches and five One Day Internationals. In first-class cricket, he has impressive figures, taking 114 wickets in 33 matches at an average of 23. During the 2023-24 West Indies First-Class Championship, Phillip claimed 29 wickets in seven games for Trinidad & Tobago, boasting a remarkable average of 18.
Lancashire's director of cricket performance, Mark Chilton, expressed his excitement about the new addition, stating that they are thrilled to enhance their pace bowling options with Phillip for the remaining County Championship matches. He added that it’s a pleasure to have Anderson join the squad.
