Marsh's Role and Cummins' Confidence Heading into First Test

As Australia prepares for their first Test against India, there is optimism within the camp, with most of the team settled and well-prepared. However, one potential concern is the fitness of all-rounder Mitchell Marsh, who has been struggling with a hamstring injury since the IPL. Although Marsh has only bowled a limited number of overs since his return, Australia captain Pat Cummins has assured that he will bowl in the first Test, though his workload will likely be managed.

With Cameron Green missing the series due to a back injury, Marsh's role becomes even more important, though his bowling duties are expected to be more limited, with Cummins emphasizing the need for Marsh to bowl in shorter spells. Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne, who has also shown himself to be a capable seam bowler, may step up to provide support for the frontline bowlers.

Cummins himself is entering the series in peak physical condition, having had an extended break from red-ball cricket. His refreshed outlook gives him confidence as he prepares to lead a determined Australian team.
