Middlesex all-rounder Martin Andersson is set to join Derbyshire on a two-year contract starting at the end of the current season. The 27-year-old, who has accumulated 2,193 runs and taken 106 wickets across all formats for Middlesex since his professional debut in 2018, will make the move after having previously been part of Derbyshire on loan earlier in his career.
Having featured in 97 matches across the County Championship, One-Day Cup, and T20 Blast, Andersson has gained significant experience and developed his skills through Middlesex's academy. His transition to Derbyshire marks the club's first acquisition ahead of the 2025 season, with Andersson being the initial winter signing.
Derbyshire's head of cricket, Mickey Arthur, expressed his enthusiasm about the signing on the club's website, stating that Andersson's abilities with both bat and ball make him a valuable addition to the squad for the upcoming season and beyond.
