Mason Crane Signs Three-Year Contract with Glamorgan

Mason Crane, the leg spinner who has played a single Test for England, has signed a three-year deal with Glamorgan. A product of Hampshire's youth system, Crane has spent his entire professional career with them but enjoyed a successful stint in Cardiff this season on a season-long loan.

At 27, Crane has become Glamorgan's leading wicket-taker in both the County Championship (24 wickets at 42.87) and the T20 Blast (17 wickets at 16.94) this season. He expressed his gratitude and excitement for the move, saying he has "loved every minute" of his time at the club and is looking forward to the next chapter.

Glamorgan's head coach, Grant Bradburn, praised Crane as an "outstanding addition" and attributed his success to the welcoming culture of the team. Bradburn mentioned that the club feels fortunate to have Crane's quality and looks forward to achieving more success with him as part of the Glamorgan family.

Crane made his professional debut for Hampshire as a teenager, with Kumar Sangakkara as his first victim. He quickly rose to prominence, playing two T20Is for England against South Africa in 2017 and joining the Test squad for an Ashes tour later that year as the second spinner behind Moeen Ali. Crane made an unexpected debut at the SCG at 20, taking one wicket for 193 runs. Since then, injuries and loss of form have limited his opportunities in first-class cricket, though he played key roles in Hampshire's Royal London Cup (2018) and T20 Blast (2022) victories.

Crane expressed his gratitude to Hampshire for an amazing journey, acknowledging the unforgettable memories and support from fans. He wished the club all the best for the future as he embarks on a new chapter with Glamorgan.
