Nottinghamshire Sign New Zealand's Jacob Duffy

Nottinghamshire has brought in New Zealand seamer Jacob Duffy to strengthen their squad as they fight to avoid relegation from Division One of the County Championship.

Duffy, a 30-year-old pacer with international experience in both T20 and one-day formats, has claimed 293 wickets in first-class cricket over his 12-year career. He will join Nottinghamshire for their final two red-ball matches of the season. With the team currently third from the bottom of the table, just 10 points ahead of Lancashire, who occupy a relegation spot, his arrival comes at a critical time.

Nottinghamshire's head coach, Peter Moores, described Duffy’s signing as an exciting and timely boost for the squad. He noted that the bowler's previous experience in England, where he played for Kent in 2022, would be beneficial in the remaining games.

Duffy’s first appearance for Nottinghamshire will be next week against his former team, Kent, before the season concludes with a match against Warwickshire, starting on September 26.

Moores expressed confidence in Duffy's ability to make an impact, highlighting his experience and skillset as key factors that could help Nottinghamshire in their final push to avoid relegation.
