Sussex has confidently named Pete Fitzboydon as their new chief executive.
The appointment follows the shock announcement in October that Rob Andrew had left the role after seven years for the England and Wales Cricket Board.
Fitzboydon is a former chief executive of Badminton England and Cycling UK. He has also worked in professional rugby union and cricket and will start in March.
He confidently stated on the club website,
'It is truly an honour to be joining Sussex as CEO at such an important time.'
Pete Fitzboydon, who previously held a consultancy role at the Rugby Football Union and most recently served as interim CEO of Cricket Scotland His appointment comes at an exciting time as Sussex aim to return men's professional team to Division One of the County Championship, develop a women's professional team, grow the game in all forms across the county, and continue developing Hove.
According to Sussex chair Jon Fillby, the candidate's significant leadership experience in sports and enthusiasm for cricket make them the ideal choice to lead the club in the future.
Fitzboydon is also eager to contribute to the club's efforts to regain its previous success.
