Rain Halts Third T20 at Old Trafford

The T20 series between England and Australia ended in a 1-1 draw after the third match at Old Trafford was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to heavy rain in Manchester.

Persistent rain throughout the day meant no play was possible, and the game was officially called off by the umpires at 16:15 BST.

Australia had claimed victory in the first T20 at Southampton, with Travis Head smashing a quick-fire half-century. In response, Liam Livingstone's impressive 87 led England to level the series in the second match in Cardiff.

Unfortunately, the wet conditions denied both teams a chance to fight for the series win in the third and final match.

With the T20 series concluded, both sides will now focus on the upcoming five-match one-day international (ODI) series, which begins on Thursday, 19 September, in Nottingham.

England will continue to be without their regular captain, Jos Buttler, for the ODI series as he remains sidelined with a right calf injury, the same issue that kept him out of the T20s and The Hundred.
