James Anderson, the legendary England pacer, completed his 700th Test wicket when he dismissed Kuldeep Yadav on Day 3 of the fifth Test against India. Sachin Tendulkar praised Anderson for his achievement.
Tendulkar recalled watching Anderson during England's triangular ODI series with Sri Lanka in Australia.
Speaking to then-England skipper Nasser Hussain, Tendulkar lauded Anderson for his control.
“700 test wickets is a stellar achievement. A fast bowler playing for 22 years and performing so consistently to be able to take 700 wickets would have sounded like fiction until Anderson actually made it happen. Simply magnificent!”
Anderson has taken 700 wickets in 187 Test matches, including 32 five-wicket hauls. In the current series, he has taken 10 wickets in 4 games. Despite being 41 years old, Anderson has not announced any plans to retire from playing for England.
