Lancashire fast bowler Saqib Mahmood has been called up to England's squad for the upcoming one-day international series against Australia.
The 27-year-old last featured in an ODI in March 2023 before being sidelined by a recurring back stress fracture. Mahmood recently made his international return in the T20 series against Australia, where he impressed with figures of 2-21 in the first match at Southampton.
In his 14 ODI appearances, Mahmood has taken eight wickets at an average of 22.85.
Harry Brook will lead the team as captain, stepping in for Jos Buttler, who is out of the five-match series due to a calf injury. The series opener is set to take place at Trent Bridge on Thursday.
