Charlie Tear enjoyed an unbeaten half-century on his debut as Scotland secured a comfortable eight-wicket victory over the United Arab Emirates in Dubai.
The 19-year-old opening batsman finished unbeaten on 56 while chasing down a modest target of 133 in the World Cup League 2 contest.
George Munsey contributed a rapid 37 and Brandon McMullen reached 39 as Scotland reached 137-2 in the 24th over.
Brothers Brad and Scott Currie shared five wickets between them as the hosts were all out in 45 overs.
Sussex batsman Tear replaced Andy Umeed, who suffered a broken finger in the opening loss to Canada, and put on 42 runs for the first wicket with Munsey. Munsey hit three sixes in his 26-ball knock.
Tear was dropped at midwicket during an 85-run stand with McMullen. He made the most of that reprieve to end a memorable day with his second six.
Asked to bat first, UAE were struggling at 63-5 in the 23rd over. Tear was involved in an early run out for captain Muhammad Waseem. But an unbeaten 45 from Aayan Afzal Khan provided some resistance.
Brad Currie recorded figures of 3-21, while his younger sibling Scott took 2-16.
