Scorecard
Craig Overton's economical 2-11 spearheaded Southern Brave's disciplined bowling attack, leading to a commanding seven-wicket victory over Manchester Originals in The Hundred men's competition.
The Originals struggled from the outset, losing captain Phil Salt for seven and managing only three boundaries in the first 50 balls, reaching a meagre 41-4 after tight bowling from Overton and Akeal Hosein.
Wayne Madsen provided some momentum with an unbeaten 43, but Tymal Mills and Chris Jordan each took two wickets to restrict the Originals.
A total of 116 appeared insufficient, and Alex Davies' explosive 24 off 12 balls gave Brave a strong start, despite his dismissal by spinner Tom Hartley.
James Vince (20) and Leus du Plooy (21) found their rhythm, and Laurie Evans secured the win with an unbeaten 25, finishing the chase with 22 balls remaining.
Notably, fast bowler Jofra Archer missed the match as he was rested by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).
