After being invited to the field, Southern Brave's bowlers quickly took control. Left-arm spinner James Coles claimed the first wicket, getting Adam Rossington out with a mistimed shot, caught by Craig Overton. Overton then took three crucial wickets, dismantling the Spirit's middle order with well-executed outfield catches.
Jofra Archer, making his first appearance in The Hundred, bowled impressively at speeds up to 90mph, conceding only nine runs in his spell. Tymal Mills and Chris Jordan provided strong support, maintaining pressure on the Spirit's batsmen.
