At Sophia Gardens, Cardiff, Southern Brave secured a decisive 42-run victory over Welsh Fire in The Hundred men's competition.
Southern Brave posted 139-5 from their 100 balls, largely thanks to James Vince's masterful unbeaten 73 off 50 balls. Haris Rauf was the standout bowler for Welsh Fire, taking 2-22.
In response, Welsh Fire managed only 97 runs from 95 balls. Tymal Mills was instrumental in the Brave's bowling attack, claiming 4-16, while David Willey top-scored for Welsh Fire with 21 off 14 balls.
Captain Vince showcased a blend of elegant and powerful strokes, propelling Brave to a solid total on a tricky pitch. Leus du Plooy (21) and Kieron Pollard (17) each added crucial sixes, supporting Vince's innings.
The hosts struggled from the start of their chase, unable to build momentum against Brave's disciplined bowling. Jonny Bairstow showed promise but was dismissed for 16 after being brilliantly caught by Mills off Craig Overton's delivery.
Spinner Danny Briggs effectively used the scoreboard pressure to his advantage, taking 3-14. Mills, however, emerged as the star of the attack with his skilful left-arm pace.
