Superchargers won by 61 runs
Birmingham Phoenix were dismissed for the lowest total in the history of The Hundred as they suffered a heavy defeat against the Northern Superchargers at Edgbaston.
Chasing a target of 116, Phoenix collapsed to 54 all out, surpassing the previous lowest total of 64 set by the Oval Invincibles against the Superchargers just days before. Phoenix's innings, which lasted only 86 balls, became the third shortest for a team bowled out in the women's competition.
Opener Sophie Devine scored 20 off 25 balls, and Seren Smale added 16 off 20, but no other Phoenix batter managed to score more than seven runs. Linsey Smith and Georgia Wareham excelled with the ball for the Superchargers, each taking 3-12.
Key Points:
- The Northern Superchargers climbed to second in the standings with their third win of the season, trailing only Welsh Fire, who have four victories.
- Their competitive total of 115-5 was largely thanks to Alice Davidson-Richards' crucial 49 off 42 balls, her best performance in the competition.
- Phoenix's last four wickets fell for just two runs in eight balls.
- Birmingham Phoenix have now lost 13 of their last 16 matches in The Hundred.
