Scotland will host the first Scottish Super 10 franchise tournament in Aberdeen from 16-31 August. The tournament will feature Men's and Women's competitions.
This will be the first international franchise cricket league in Europe outside of England, showcasing Scotland as a prominent venue for franchise cricket.
Six men's franchises from Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Inverness, Perth, and Dundee, owned and operated by major private corporations from around the world, will compete in Aberdeen across 34 T10 matches. The men's squads will include top Scottish and international talent, with details to be announced at a press conference in Dubai during the last week of April.
The women's tournament will feature two franchises, each with a squad of 15 players. This will be only the second women's franchise tournament to take place in the UK. The two teams will face each other on the opening weekend of August 16th, 17th, and 18th. The majority of the squads will consist of current Scotland internationals, who will compete alongside selected international stars.
Three of the six men's franchises have already been sold, and international players planning to participate in this prestigious event have already begun signing up.
Among the players who have confirmed their participation in the Scottish Super 10 are Afghan stars Rashid Khan and Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Zimbabwe all-rounder Sikander Raza, Pakistan pace bowler Naseem Shah, England batsman Alex Hales, and Kiwi talent Finn Allen.
As with the women's competition, each men's team squad will consist of 15 players, including up to nine international players and six Scottish players. Every team will have two international marquee players, and the remaining players will be selected through a player draft.
