On the second day of the match at the Utilita Bowl, Hampshire's James Vince achieved his fourth County Championship double-century, leading to a strong position against Kent.

Hampshire's skipper, Vince, extended his overnight score from 149 to a spectacular 211, showcasing his elegant batting skills.

With contributions from James Fuller (41) and Keith Barker (43), Hampshire declared at 505-8. Barker (3-49), Mohammad Abbas (2-59), and Kyle Abbott then effectively dismantled Kent’s batting lineup.

For Kent, Feroze Khushi and Jack Leaning managed to score contrasting fifties, but the team ended the day trailing by 299 runs at 206-6.

Vince’s dazzling century from the first day continued with his remarkable performance on day two. He reached 150 with the third ball of the day, driving eight cover shots with precision and grace to the boundary.

Ben Brown formed a record-breaking partnership of 259 runs for the fourth wicket with Vince, marking Hampshire's best against Kent, before he edged to second slip. Liam Dawson was subsequently bowled by Joey Evison, who took 4-83.

Vince achieved his 200 in 262 balls but was eventually dismissed for 211 when Grant Stewart's delivery found the edge, carrying to second slip.
