In the test series against India, Ben Stokes and his team adopted an attacking brand of cricket. England started the series strongly. They beat the hosts by 28 runs in Hyderabad.
However, their aggressive approach backfired in the next two matches, resulting in defeats by 106 and 434 runs, respectively.
Following England's defeat in the Rajkot Test, Ben Stokes and his team have faced severe criticism regarding their approach in the series. Many cricketing greats have criticised Stokes and his team for their 'Bazball' approach.
One such critic is former Indian opener Kris Srikkanth, who gave a brutal verdict on the approach, stating that England will not be able to make a comeback in this ongoing series.
Asked about England's chances of fighting back in the series, Srikanth said: "If possible, they can take the next flight home, but they still have to play the remaining two Tests.
Srikanth also dismissed the Bazball theory, stating that it has mostly backfired on England and did not work for them in the Ashes series either.
Srikanth expressed his belief that Bazball will not be successful for England in the long run due to the difficulty of hitting shots from the first ball.
Conversely, England's coach, Brendon McCullum, has no regrets about the team's aggressive approach that led to their loss in the match and plans to continue playing in this style throughout the series.
The two teams will face each other in Ranchi on February 23, with India currently leading the series 2-1.
