Aaron Hardie has withdrawn from his stint with Surrey

Aaron Hardie will not be joining Surrey this summer as Cricket Australia has withdrawn him to manage his workload.

The 25-year-old all-rounder was scheduled to play in the County Championship and the full Vitality Blast group stages from May to the end of July.

Hardie has been part of several Australia tours in the last 12 months, including making his debut in ODI and IT20 cricket. Hardie played a crucial role in the Perth Scorchers' Big Bash campaign, including captaining the side, before representing the West Indies in white-ball fixtures in early 2024.

This week, he will represent Western Australia in the Sheffield Shield final, with the region aiming to secure their third consecutive title. After a busy year, Cricket Australia has decided to give him an extended period of rest, and therefore he will not be available for Surrey.
