England's Strategy: Cook urges team to protect Bairstow from pressing

Ben Stokes and his team are preparing to face Team India for the fourth time in the series. However, former England captain Alastair Cook has called on the team to make changes to their playing XI before the game.

Cook has suggested that England drop Johnny Bairstow, who has struggled with the bat, averaging just 17.00 so far in the series. Across six innings, he has scored 0, 4, 25, 37, 26, and 10.

Alistair Cook believes that Bairstow has had a tough time with the bat in this tour so far and that he should be taken out of the firing line to protect him as a player.

Cook suggests England should replace Bairstow for the Ranchi Test with Dan Lawrence, who can be effective with both bat and ball.

India is without two of their leading lights Jasprit Bumrah and KL Rahul, the former rested to cope with the workload and the latter still recovering from a strained quad muscle suffered in the first Test in Hyderabad.

On February 23, India and England will face off in the fourth test match of the series in Ranchi. India currently leads the series 2-1.
