Essex pace bowler Jamie Porter has signed a contract extension that will keep him at the club until the end of the 2027 season.
The 30-year-old has spent his entire career with his home county and has taken 505 first-class wickets.
Last summer, only two players in County Championship Division One surpassed his record of 57 wickets: teammate Simon Harmer and Notts' Brett Hutton.
Porter played a crucial role in Essex's title-winning campaigns in 2017 and 2019, as well as their Bob Willis Trophy triumph in 2020.
He returned to form last summer after adopting a new fitness regime, following injury setbacks that limited him to just 19 wickets in eight games in 2022.
Essex will commence their 2024 season with a match against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge on 5 April.
They have lost Sir Alastair Cook, who has retired, and Dan Lawrence from their batting line-up but have brought in former South Africa captain Dean Elgar and ex-Kent wicketkeeper Jordan Cox.
