Stats: India's spin bowlers excelled in the last three Tests

Playing against India in their home country over the past 11 years has been one of the most challenging tasks in Test history.

England's spin attack, despite being relatively inexperienced, performed exceptionally well in the first two Tests, taking 33 wickets at an average of 33.9. In comparison, India's spinners took 23 wickets at 38.3.

Even in the second Test, which England lost due to Bumrah's brilliance, their spinners had a better runs-per-wicket ratio than their Indian counterparts.

But in the final three Tests, the experience, quality, craft, and mesmerising variety of Ashwin, Jadeja, and Kuldeep Yadav demolished England's batting, taking 46 wickets at an average of 18.1.

In contrast, England's spinners managed only 27 wickets at an average of 45.5 against an Indian batting line-up that was strengthened by the addition of Sarfaraz Khan and Dhruv Jurel.
