Kent has reinforced their bowling attack by bringing in West Indies pacer Akeem Jordan for the next four County Championship games. The 29-year-old, who has claimed 67 wickets in 19 first-class matches for Barbados, will join Charlie Stobo as the county's second overseas player, having signed with Kent in May.
Currently languishing at the bottom of the County Championship standings and 30 points away from safety with only five games left, Kent is in dire need of a turnaround.
Jordan expressed his enthusiasm for joining the team, stating on Kent’s official website that he is eager to get started. He acknowledged the significance of the upcoming matches and pledged to contribute fully to helping the squad finish the season on a high note.
Jordan's addition comes as Kent prepares for crucial encounters against Worcestershire, Warwickshire, Hampshire, and Nottinghamshire. In a further effort to strengthen their squad, Kent has also secured Somerset's bowler Alfie Ogborne on loan for two Championship matches.
The 21-year-old left-arm seamer, who took three wickets in his sole first-class appearance against Hampshire last season, has also impressed in List A cricket with 12 wickets in 11 matches for Somerset.
Ogborne will be available to Kent for their fixtures against Worcestershire and Warwickshire, providing additional depth to their bowling options.
