South Africa's Anneke Bosch led the charge with a brilliant unbeaten 74 from 48 balls, while captain Laura Wolvaardt contributed a composed 42. Their 96-run second-wicket stand left Australia struggling to keep up, with Wolvaardt later calling it "one of our biggest wins ever."
Australia's innings, restricted to 134-5, lacked momentum, with their batters failing to break free. Grace Harris and Georgia Wareham were dismissed early, while Beth Mooney’s steady 44 from 42 balls failed to lift the run-rate. Skipper Tahlia McGrath’s sluggish 27 from 33 balls further stalled Australia’s progress.
