It just took two balls to give England the lift they needed in their final game before their T20 World Cup campaign gets underway.
Muhammad Rizwan was gasping for breath after Mark Wood's 95 mph delivery in his first game since March due to weather and injuries.
Along with Jofra Archer, he quickly reached 96 mph in a fast opening burst that was important in England's 2019 World Cup victory.
It was matched by Pakistani captain Babar Azam and Rizwan, at least until Babar got the better of Archer on 36, but it enthralled The Oval audience and had fans excited about the possibility of the two getting back together during England's World Cup defence.
“It's really exciting," said captain Jos Buttler, whose side's campaign begins on Tuesday against Scotland in Barbados. "Any time you see pace in the game, especially those two bowling together, it's a great place to be. The two of them bowled well on a quick wicket."
