Yorkshire has confirmed the availability of Brook, Masood, and Root

Yorkshire fans will witness an international trio of Harry Brook, Shan Masood, and Joe Root in the batting line-up as early as the second game of the Vitality County Championship season.

Brook is available for the first five games of the Division Two campaign, starting against Leicestershire at Headingley in a week.

Captain Shan Masood is also available for that game. The Pakistani overseas star will arrive in England later this week to begin his second season with the club. The Pakistan Test captain is expected to be available for most of the summer in all formats.

Root will be available for five of the first seven games, starting with the second away game against Gloucestershire in Bristol on Friday, April 12th.

Prior to Yorkshire's current friendly with Leeds/Bradford MCC Universities, coach Ottis Gibson described the possibility of England stars Brook and Root playing together as 'special'.

Gibson has confirmed the availability of the pair. Root will be unavailable for the Leicestershire opener and the sixth round trip to Sussex on May 17.

He will be available for the first half of the Vitality Blast T20 campaign from late May into June as England participates in the T20 World Cup in the Caribbean and USA. Brook is expected to participate in that international tournament.

Root and Brook have not played in Yorkshire since 2022, Root in May and Brook in July.

Fin Bean, who scored 62 on day one against Leeds/Bradford as Yorkshire closed on 294-5, said that it’s great to have those two in the middle order and also to learn from them and see how they approach the game.
