Australia’s first victory in T20

Australia started their T20 World Cup campaign with a solid win over Oman in Barbados, despite facing early setbacks with the loss of two key wickets. After winning the toss, Oman made early inroads by dismissing Travis Head and captain Mitch Marsh cheaply. The momentum continued for Oman when fast bowler Mehran Khan claimed the wicket of Glenn Maxwell, putting Australia in a precarious position.

However, David Warner and Marcus Stoinis steadied the ship with a crucial partnership, guiding Australia to a competitive total of 164-5 after 20 overs. Warner's contribution of 56 runs and Stoinis' unbeaten 67 were instrumental in Australia's recovery.

In response, Oman faced the challenge of Australia's formidable bowling attack, with Mitchell Starc making an early breakthrough in the first over. Despite the pressure, Oman managed to put up a respectable total of 125-9, with Ayan Khan top-scoring with 36 runs.

Australia will now face England in their next match in Barbados, while Oman will take on Scotland in Antigua. Both matches are scheduled for 6 pm local time, promising exciting encounters in the T20 World Cup.
