Dame Sarah Storey has accepted the nomination to become the president of a club in Lancashire

Dame Sarah Storey has accepted the nomination of the Board of Directors of the Lancashire Cricket Club to become its next President.

Britain's most decorated Paralympian, the 46-year-old Storey, will assume the presidency for a two-year term, succeeding former president Sir Howard Bernstein who stepped down in 2023.

Dame Storey, a former para-swimmer and para-cyclist who has won 17 Paralympic gold medals, will be nominated for the post at the club's annual general meeting. Members will then vote to ratify the election.

Lancashire chairman Andy Anson stated:

"Sarah is an outstanding candidate for the presidency. With a peerless record as Britain's most successful Paralympian, she is an inspirational presence who has a proven track-record in high-performance elite sport and as a strategic advisor in a variety of public-facing roles."
