Reflecting on the match, Finn noted to BBC’s Test Match Special that England executed perfectly from the moment Jos Buttler won the toss. Finn remarked, "England have just demonstrated their dominance."

In a bowling masterclass, leg-spinner Adil Rashid claimed 4 wickets for 11 runs, while fast bowlers Jofra Archer and Mark Wood each took 4 for 12, wrapping up Oman's innings in just 13.2 overs.

Chasing the target, England needed to reach it in under 33 balls to surpass Scotland’s net run-rate. They did so emphatically, setting a T20 World Cup record by achieving their goal in just 19 balls. This swift response came after their loss to Australia in Barbados just a few days earlier.

Finn commented that even with England winning the toss and opting to bowl first, or reducing Oman to 16-2 early on, it was unexpected that they would dismiss Oman for just 47 runs. He pointed out that this performance showcased England's formidable power, but cautioned that it was just a step in the right direction.

Phil Salt set the tone for the chase by hitting sixes on the first two balls he faced, though he was bowled out on the third. Captain Buttler then led the team to victory, remaining unbeaten with 24 runs from just eight balls, supported by Jonny Bairstow who hit two fours in his brief appearance.
