Nottinghamshire opener Alex Hales has agreed to a new white-ball deal that will run until 2024

Former England opener, Alex Hales, has agreed to a white-ball contract extension with Nottinghamshire for the 2024 season.

Hales holds the record for scoring the most T20 runs for Notts Outlaws, with a total of 4,687. He played a crucial role in helping the team win the trophy in both 2017 and 2020.

Hales is a renowned T20 player and has also been the top run-scorer for Sydney Thunder in Australia's Big Bash competition.

Hales expressed his excitement for the upcoming season, stating that he is particularly looking forward to seeing Joe Clarke take on the role of captain.

He believes that Clarke will make an excellent leader and that the team will be in a strong position to compete this year.

Currently playing for Khulna Tigers in the Bangladesh Premier League, Hales, 35, scored an impressive 60 off 33 balls against Rangpur Riders on Tuesday.

Head coach Peter Moores praised Hales, stating that he has an unrivalled T20 record for Notts and an immense pedigree in the game. Moores added that any team with Hales in it is stronger as a result.

Hales leads by example at the top of the order with the intent he displays and has a wealth of experience that he can pass on to the rest of the group.

The most significant compliment I can give him is that he is the player our younger teammates aspire to be like and bat with. This is due to his accomplishments in the game and the valuable lessons they can learn from him.

Hales, who retired from international cricket last year, scored 328 runs in 15 games during last summer's T20 Blast.
