Rain forced England and Pakistan to postpone their opening T20 match

The incessant rain hindered England's preparations for the T20 World Cup, as their first T20 match against Pakistan at Headingley washed out.
Jos Buttler's team was supposed to start preparing for the West Indies and United States competition in the United States and the West Indies next month in Leeds on Wednesday, but the game was abandoned without a ball being thrown due to severe rain all day.
There was never any chance of play once the rain began to fall just after 9 am, as the Met Office had issued an amber weather warning for the area.
It wasn't until 5:30 p.m. that the game was cancelled due to standing water pools on the outfield and impending rain.
