Rocky Flintoff Makes History as Lancashire's Youngest Cricketer

Rocky Flintoff has set a new record as Lancashire's youngest first-team cricketer, making his debut in the One-Day Cup game against Kent at Blackpool. The 16-year-old, son of former England captain Andrew Flintoff, made his first appearance at 16 years and 113 days old, becoming the youngest player in the county's 160-year history.

Just 10 days prior, Rocky Flintoff drew attention by scoring 106 runs in the second Test against Sri Lanka at Cheltenham, making him the youngest player to score a century for England's Under-19 team. His performances this season, including a century for Lancashire's second XI against Warwickshire in April, led to him signing a professional contract with the county.

Rocky follows in the footsteps of his father, Andrew "Freddie" Flintoff, who had a distinguished career with Lancashire, earning 79 Test caps, playing in 141 one-day internationals, and seven T20 matches, while also captaining England from 2006 to 2007. After retiring from cricket, Freddie Flintoff became a TV presenter and currently serves as the head coach for the Northern Superchargers men's team in The Hundred.

Rocky's debut coincided closely with Archie Vaughan, son of former England captain Michael Vaughan, making his county debut for Somerset at the age of 18.
