Ticket Prices for the India-England Test Increased

Ticket prices for next summer's highly anticipated Test match between India and England at Lord's have been raised again, despite a tepid fan response to the recent Test against Sri Lanka.

The Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), which owns Lord's, faced backlash for the high ticket prices during the Sri Lanka match. The upcoming five-match Test series between India and England is set to begin on June 20, with the third game taking place at Lord's from July 10.

For the Lord's Test against India, the lowest-priced tickets with restricted views will cost £90, while those seeking an unrestricted view will need to pay between £120 and £175, according to ESPNcricinfo.

In comparison, tickets for the Sri Lanka Test last month, which also had restricted views, were priced between £115 and £140. The match, which ended on day four, attracted only 9,000 spectators, filling just a third of the stadium's capacity.

India’s series against England is expected to be the second biggest draw for fans after the Ashes against Australia. Despite this, the low turnout at the Sri Lanka Test left England's stand-in captain, Ollie Pope, surprised. He remarked that it felt unusually quiet at the stadium, expressing disappointment that the strong play didn’t attract a full house.
