Visakhapatnam Test favourite moments

Nine of the most memorable moments from an enthralling Test match between India and England.

India and England played four days of thrilling Test cricket. The hosts levelled the series in Visakhapatnam. We've chosen the best moments and you can choose yours.

Pope yorks by Bumrah

In Hyderabad, Ollie Pope played one of the finest Test innings to be seen on the sub-continent. He was bowled by Jasprit Bumrah in Visakhapatnam with one of the biggest deliveries to be seen on these shores. It was a reverse-swinging yorker that found the base of the middle and leg stump. Pope went down, bails and stumps flying. Memorable.

Ben Stokes' reaction to Jasprit Bumrah's bowling

'What do I do? What could I do?' - Ben Stokes' reaction to Jasprit Bumrah's bowling was a reminder that there wasn't much he could do. England's captain had to go when it seamed in, kept low, and flattened off stump.

THE DOUBLE TON OF JAISWAL

In his young international career, Yashasvi Jaiswal has been described as 'fearless'. In Visakhapatnam, he showed exactly why. He brought up his century with a six and his double century with a six and a four! A magnificent innings from one of the stars of the future.

DIRECT HIT BY SHREYAS

Had Ben Stokes been too casual with the completion of a single? Likely, and Shreyas Iyer punished even a moment's hesitation by trapping Stokes with a direct hit running in from short midwicket. A runout that all but ended England's hopes of a Bazball chase.

GILL RELIEVED TO CELEBRATE HIS CENTURY

Shubman Gill was a player under pressure going into the Vizag Test. It had been almost 11 months since he had scored a half-century. But he rode his luck early in his innings - a few reviews went his way, a few edges fell short - to reach a third Test century. Relief was the overriding emotion, though he didn't celebrate with his trademark bow.

STOKES’ SCREAMER

Shreyas Iyer sliced one high to give India a healthy lead. Ben Stokes ran to long-off as the ball moved away. He took a good diving catch. It was a wicket out of nowhere, and one that England desperately needed at the time.

ROHIT SHARMA and JAMES ANDERSON

James Anderson justified his selection in Visakhapatnam, beating his years as England's top bowler. On the third day, Rohit Sharma played the line, but Anderson produced just enough seam movement to take the Indian captain's off-stump.

FOAKES' GLOVE WORK IS EYE-CATCHING

Would you say Ben Foakes is the best wicketkeeper in Test cricket at the moment? Particularly on the subcontinent, he has a strong case. And he made his case with some excellent catches in Vizag. He stayed low to snaffle Shreyas, held Patidar's thin inside edge, and kept his gloves low to Ashwin's outside edge.

DEBUTANT BASHIR STRIKES

With questions over his selection and travel problems, Shoaib Bashir hasn't had an easy time of it ahead of his Test debut. By taking his first Test wicket off Rohit Sharma, he answered some of them.
