WTC Final Scenarios
With 10 matches remaining in the current World Test Championship (WTC) cycle, the race for the final spots remains intense. South Africa, Australia, India, and Sri Lanka are still in contention, while other teams are out of the running.
South Africa currently leads the table with a 63.33% win percentage after a 2-0 sweep against Sri Lanka. They need just one win in their upcoming home series against Pakistan to secure a spot in the final. A 1-1 draw would leave them at 61.11%, leaving room for only one of India or Australia to overtake them. If both Tests are drawn, or they lose, their chances depend heavily on other results.
India, at 57.29%, must secure two wins and a draw in their three remaining matches in Australia to guarantee a place. A 3-2 victory would also suffice, depending on Australia's performance against Sri Lanka.
Australia, with a 60.71% win rate, needs two wins from their three home Tests against India to ensure qualification. Their fate may hinge on their subsequent series in Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka, at 45.45%, requires a sweep against Australia to remain in contention but would still need favourable outcomes in other series.
Pakistan holds only a slim, mathematical chance of qualification, even with four consecutive wins.
With South Africa needing just one more win for a guaranteed top-two finish, the final spots are likely to hinge on key clashes involving India, Australia, and Sri Lanka.
